How do I use auto tuning or manual tuning to find TV channels?

Those menu names are broadcast TV channel tools, not a streaming-app login. Connect an antenna or cable input, run Auto Tuning first, then use Manual Tuning or Signal Info only if specific channels are missing after the scan.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Factory reset erases apps and picture settings; use channel scan and input checks before resetting.
- Ignore sites or popups that ask you to pay to unlock free broadcast channels.
Follow these steps
Confirm the antenna or cable connection
Plug the antenna or cable coax firmly into the TV’s ANT/CABLE input, then on the TV choose the matching source or tuner input (not HDMI).
You should see: The TV is on the tuner input and ready to scan for broadcast channels.
Run Auto Tuning first
Open Settings and find Auto Tuning, Channel Scan, or similar. Choose Antenna or Cable as prompted, then start the full automatic scan and wait until it finishes.
You should see: The TV reports how many channels were found and adds them to the channel list.
Check Signal Info for weak channels
If some channels are missing or break up, open Signal Info on a problem channel and check strength/quality. Reposition the antenna and scan again if the signal is low.
You should see: Signal strength improves, or you confirm the channel is too weak for a reliable lock.
Use Manual Tuning only for missing channels
Open Manual Tuning, enter the channel or frequency your local broadcaster uses, and save it if the TV locks a signal. Use Program Edit afterward to reorder or hide channels if needed.
You should see: The missing channel appears in the list, or Manual Tuning shows no signal on that frequency.
Update TV software if scans keep failing
If Auto Tuning repeatedly fails on a connected antenna, open Software Update on a network connection and install any official TV update, then run Auto Tuning again.
