Most SentrySafe electronic locks use batteries behind the keypad. After installing fresh AAA alkaline batteries, the main keypad connector must be fully seated or the lock will not respond.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Do not force the keypad cable; a damaged connector can lock you out electronically.
Follow these steps
Remove the keypad carefully
Follow the model’s method to lift or unscrew the keypad enough to reach the battery compartment without yanking the cable.
You should see: The battery tray and connector are accessible.
Install fresh AAA alkaline batteries
Replace the batteries with four new AAA alkaline cells matching the marked polarity.
You should see: New batteries are seated correctly in the tray.
Reseat the main connector
Before closing everything up, make sure the main keypad cable connector is fully pushed in until firmly seated.
You should see: The keypad lights or beeps normally when buttons are pressed.
Test the code and reassemble
