What does a flashing red and blue light mean on Shokz headphones?

Answer

A flashing red/blue light on Shokz usually means the headphones are in pairing mode; wait for a phone Bluetooth connection, or reset the headset if pairing never completes.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not dismantle the headset or force charging ports with metal objects.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm pairing mode

Hold the power/pairing button as directed in your Shokz manual until the LED flashes red and blue, which usually means ready to pair.

You should see: The light continues alternating red and blue.

  2. Select Shokz on the phone

On the phone, open Bluetooth, stay on the scan list, and tap the Shokz headphone name when it appears.

You should see: The phone shows Connected and the headphone LED changes to a paired indicator (often solid or flashing blue).

  3. Forget old pairings if it fails

On the phone, forget previous Shokz entries, restart Bluetooth, and pair again from scratch.

You should see: A fresh pairing prompt appears and completes.

  4. Reset the Shokz headphones

Follow Shokz’s official reset button combination for your model, then enter pairing mode again.

You should see: The headphones return to pairing mode and can be discovered.

  5. Test audio

Play a short video or song and confirm sound through the Shokz transducers.

You should see: Audio plays clearly and the connection stays stable.

Extra tips

What to look for: Whether the LED alternates red and blue while you hold the power/pairing button, and whether the phone discovers the Shokz name.

Before you change anything: Charge the headphones until the charge indicator shows ready. Turn off other nearby Bluetooth headsets that might auto-steal the connection. Keep the phone within a few feet during pairing.
