How do I cancel automatic subscription renewals on my accounts?
Answer
Identify each service from bank or app-store charges, then cancel auto-renew in that service's official subscription settings or the Apple/Google store that billed it. Confirm a cancellation date so the next charge does not post.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Third-party sites that promise to cancel every subscription for a fee are a common scam vector—use official account pages only.
- Canceling may end access to paid features at the end of the current period; download anything you need first.
Follow these steps
List recurring charges
Review the last one or two months of bank/card statements and note every merchant that bills monthly or yearly. Also open Apple Subscriptions and Google Play Subscriptions if you use those stores.
You should see: You have a written list of services that renew automatically.
Cancel inside each official account
For each merchant, sign in on the official website or app, open Billing / Subscription, and turn off auto-renew or choose Cancel. For store-billed apps, cancel in Apple or Google Play instead of the app alone.
You should see: Each unwanted subscription shows canceled or set to expire at period end.
Remove unused payment methods where appropriate
After canceling, remove saved cards from services you will not use again, if the site allows, so accidental re-subscribes are harder. Keep at least one valid method on accounts you still need.
You should see: Unused services no longer have an easy path to charge you.
Verify the next billing cycle
Check confirmation screens or email for the access end date, then watch the next statement to ensure the charge does not return. If a charge posts after cancellation, use the merchant's official support or your bank's dispute process.
You should see: No further unwanted renewals appear, or a mistaken charge is documented for refund.

Extra tips
What to look for: Recurring charges on a bank/card statement or active items under Apple Subscriptions, Google Play Subscriptions, or a service's Billing page.
Before you change anything: List recent recurring charges and the email addresses used for those accounts. Cancel in the same store or site that billed you. Save confirmation emails when cancellation completes.
