How do I fix a Fitbit Inspire 3 that will not sync?

Answer

Force a sync in the Fitbit app, restart the phone, then set the Inspire 3 up again as a new device if sync still fails. Keep Bluetooth on and the watch close to the phone during setup.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Removing a tracker before syncing can lose recent unsynced activity stored only on the device.
  • Unofficial Fitbit apps can fail to sync or steal account access.

Follow these steps

  1. Force a sync in the Fitbit app

Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the main screen to force a sync while the Inspire 3 is nearby and unlocked.

You should see: The last sync time updates, or a clearer sync error appears.

  2. Restart the phone

Restart the phone, turn Bluetooth back on if needed, reopen Fitbit, and try syncing again.

You should see: The phone Bluetooth stack refreshes and sync may succeed.

  3. Re-add the Inspire 3

In the Fitbit app, remove or set up the Inspire 3 again as a new device and complete pairing.

You should see: The tracker pairs cleanly and syncs current data.

  4. Check for app or firmware updates

Update the Fitbit app from the official store and install any tracker update the app offers.

You should see: Software is current and sync remains stable.

Extra tips

What to look for: Last sync time in the Fitbit app, Bluetooth status, and whether the Inspire 3 still appears under devices

Before you change anything: Charge the Inspire 3 before re-pairing. Confirm you are signed into the correct Fitbit account. Note that removing the device may clear some unsynced tracker data. Use the official Fitbit app only.
