How do I lock and locate a stolen Samsung Android phone?

Sign in to Samsung Find (SmartThings Find) or Google Find My Device with the account that was on the phone, then lock the device, make it ring, or erase it if you cannot recover it safely.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Erasing the phone usually removes the ability to keep tracking it afterward. Use erase only when you are ready to give up remote location.
- Avoid third-party “phone unlock” or paid recovery sites that ask for remote access or fees outside official Google or Samsung tools.
Follow these steps
Open Samsung Find
On a computer or another phone, go to the official SmartThings Find / Samsung Find site and sign in with the Samsung account that was on the stolen phone.
You should see: Your devices list appears, or you see a clear message that the phone is offline or not enrolled.
Try Google Find My Device
Also open Google’s official Find My Device page and sign in with the Google account that was on the phone.
You should see: The phone appears on a map if it is online, or it shows as last seen / offline.
Lock the phone and change passwords
If the phone is online, use Lock or Secure Device, then change the Google and Samsung account passwords and sign out other sessions where available.
You should see: The phone is locked with a message you choose, and old sign-in sessions are harder for a thief to use.
Erase only if you accept data loss
If you cannot recover the phone safely, use Erase or Factory reset from Find My Device or Samsung Find. After erase, tracking usually stops.
You should see: The erase request is queued or completed, and you understand location tracking may end once the wipe finishes.
Report the theft
File a police report if needed and contact your carrier to suspend the line and block the IMEI when that service is offered.
You should see: The number is suspended and you have a report number for insurance or carrier follow-up.
