How do I fix a Samsung Galaxy Watch that will not install a carrier app?

Answer

Update the watch software, restart by holding both side buttons, then search the Galaxy Store again on the watch and phone. If the app is still missing, the carrier may not support that watch model or region.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Sideloaded carrier apps from unofficial sites can compromise the watch and phone.

Follow these steps

  1. Wait and refresh status

If an install status looks stuck, wait 30 to 60 seconds and reopen Galaxy Store to see whether wording updates.

You should see: The status clears or still shows failed/missing.

  2. Restart the watch

Hold both side buttons until the watch reboots, then unlock it and open Galaxy Store again.

You should see: The watch restarts and store search works.

  3. Update watch software

On the paired phone, open the Galaxy Wearable app and install any watch software update, then recheck the store listing.

You should see: The watch is current and the app either appears or remains unavailable.

  4. Confirm carrier support

If the app is still missing on both watch and phone store searches, check the carrier’s published list of supported Galaxy Watch models.

You should see: You know whether to use phone-based carrier login instead.

Extra tips

What to look for: Whether O2 or the carrier app appears in Galaxy Store on phone versus watch, and any stuck installing or timestamp status text.

Before you change anything: Charge the watch above 50% before updates. Keep the watch connected to the Samsung phone companion app. Note your carrier and watch model. Avoid sideloading carrier apps from unknown sites.
