How do I upgrade an Xfinity TV package to get cooking shows or a missing channel?

Check whether the cooking channels or channel 50 are already in your current Xfinity lineup first. If they are missing, compare the next TV package up from your plan and add only the tier that includes those channels.

Follow these steps

  1. Open your Xfinity channel lineup

    Sign in to your Xfinity account on xfinity.com and open the Channel Lineup tool for your service address.

    You should see: You see the channels included with your current package for your local area.

  2. Search for the missing channels

    Search the lineup for the cooking networks you want and for channel 50. Note whether they are listed under your current package or only under a higher tier.

    You should see: You can tell whether the channels are already included or require an upgrade.

  3. Compare the next TV package

    If the channels are missing, open TV package options and compare the next plan up from your current basic package, including any cooking or lifestyle channel packs.

    You should see: You see which upgrade includes the channels and what the new monthly price would be.

  4. Upgrade only if the channels are listed

    Choose the lowest package or add-on that clearly lists the cooking shows or channel 50, complete the change in the official Xfinity account, then retune or refresh the TV guide.

    You should see: The account shows the new package, and the missing channels become selectable on the TV.
