How do I add an international day pass on more than one phone?

Answer

International day passes are tied to your carrier account and usually to specific lines. Add or assign the pass in the carrier’s official app or account for each phone number that needs it, then turn on Data Roaming on each device. If the pass already shows on the account but one phone fails, check Cellular Data Options and that the correct line is using the pass.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Roaming outside a purchased pass can cause high charges; confirm the pass is active before heavy data use.

Follow these steps

  1. Check the pass on each line in the carrier account

Open the carrier’s official app or website, select each phone number, and confirm whether the international day pass is active or available to add for that line.

You should see: You see which devices/lines already have the pass and which still need it.

  2. Add the pass for the second device if needed

Purchase or assign the international day pass to the second number using the carrier’s travel or international options. Follow only the carrier’s checkout screens.

You should see: Both lines show an active or scheduled international day pass.

  3. Turn on Data Roaming on each phone

On iPhone go to Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Options and turn Data Roaming on. On Android use Settings → Network & internet → Mobile network (wording varies) and enable roaming. Repeat on the second phone.

You should see: Data Roaming is on for each phone that should use the pass.

  4. Confirm the correct line is active

If a phone has dual SIM or eSIM, select the line that has the travel pass for cellular data. Toggle Airplane Mode off and on, then test a webpage.

You should see: The phone uses the pass-covered line and mobile data works abroad.

Extra tips

What to look for: The carrier travel or international day pass status per line, Data Roaming on/off, and whether each phone is using the line the pass was purchased for.

Before you change anything: Know both phone numbers and which carrier owns them. Buy or manage travel passes only in the official carrier app or website. Note your home plan’s roaming warnings before turning Data Roaming on. Never share account codes with unexpected “travel support” callers.
