How do I fix Life360 stuck on a parent permission or wrong age screen?
Answer
Life360 can trap a circle member on a parental-approval screen when the birthdate or age gate is wrong. Update the Life360 app, force-close it, then correct the birthdate or complete the parent approval from the parent’s own Life360 account. Avoid clearing app data until those steps fail.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Clearing Life360 app data or uninstalling can sign you out of the circle and may require re-invites.
Follow these steps
Update and restart Life360
Update Life360 in the App Store or Google Play, then fully close the app from the app switcher and reopen it once.
You should see: The stuck screen refreshes, or the same parent-permission page returns.
Confirm which account is signed in
From any reachable account menu, confirm the email or phone number signed into Life360 matches the person who should be using this device.
You should see: You know whether the wrong person or a child account is signed in.
Correct birthdate or finish parent approval
If Life360 lets you edit profile details, set the correct birthdate. If it requires a parent, open Life360 on the parent’s phone, sign in to the parent account, and approve the pending request for this member.
You should see: The permission page clears and the Life360 home screen becomes available.
Sign out only if settings are reachable
If the wrong account is signed in and Settings is reachable, sign out and sign back in with the correct Life360 account. If the screen is completely blocked, use Life360’s official support or account recovery from a browser instead of third-party unlock tools.
You should see: The correct account loads, or official support can reset the age-gate state.
Clear cache on Android as a last step
On Android only, open system Settings > Apps > Life360 and clear cache (not storage/data) if the permission screen still loops after an update.
You should see: Life360 reloads the permission flow cleanly, or still needs parent approval.

Extra tips
What to look for: The exact parent permission wording, whether the birthdate shown is wrong, and whether you are on iPhone or Android.
Before you change anything: Note whether this is the child’s phone or the parent’s phone. Update Life360 from the App Store or Google Play before changing account settings. Do not delete the Life360 account unless you understand circle membership will be affected. Never share verification codes with unexpected callers.
