How do I fix aT&T ping or locate a lost phone?
Answer
AT&T support may help suspend the line and, in limited cases, assist with location when account ownership is verified, but the fastest locate tools are usually Find My on iPhone or Find Hub / Google Find My Device on Android. Start with the device’s official find network, then call AT&T to suspend service.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Remote erase deletes data on the device when it next comes online; lock first if you still hope to recover files.
Follow these steps
Use the phone’s official find network first
For iPhone, open Find My on another Apple device or iCloud.com and select the lost phone. For Android, open Google Find My Device / Find Hub in a browser and sign in with the Google account on that phone.
You should see: The phone shows a current or last-known location, or appears offline with a last-seen time.
Lock or erase if needed
In Find My or Google’s find tools, use Secure / Mark As Lost, ring, or erase options as appropriate. Prefer locking first if you still hope to recover the phone.
You should see: The device is locked with a message, queued to erase, or clearly shown as offline.
Contact AT&T to suspend the line
Sign in at AT&T’s official account site or app, or call AT&T support from another phone. Ask to suspend the lost number to block calls, texts, and data, and ask what location assistance is available after they verify the account.
You should see: The line is suspended or flagged, and AT&T explains any location options they can offer.
Provide make, model, and IMEI if asked
Give AT&T the phone’s make and model and the IMEI from the box, purchase receipt, or prior device info screenshots so they can help with device identity or blacklisting steps your account allows.
You should see: AT&T records the device details and completes any available lost-device steps on the account.
File a police report if required
If the phone was stolen or insurance requires it, file a local report and keep the case number with your AT&T suspension confirmation.
You should see: You have documentation for insurance or carrier follow-up.

Extra tips
What to look for: Whether the phone still appears in Find My or Google Find My Device, the phone’s make and model, and AT&T account ownership details needed to suspend the line.
Before you change anything: Confirm the AT&T account holder name and mobile number. Have the phone make, model, and IMEI if printed on the box or in an old settings screenshot. Try the Apple or Google find website or app first if the phone was signed into that account. Never give account passwords to someone who calls you unexpectedly.
