How do I fix a stuck number port to Verizon?

Answer

Most stuck Verizon ports fail because the old carrier account number, ZIP code, or transfer PIN does not match exactly. For numbers leaving Walmart Family Mobile, get the current security PIN from that account, then check Verizon's transfer status page and resubmit only the details that status says are wrong.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Keep the old carrier account active until Verizon confirms the port is complete; canceling early can stop the transfer.
  • Only enter account PINs on official Verizon or old-carrier pages you open yourself, never through unexpected texts or callers.

Follow these steps

  1. Get the old-carrier transfer PIN

Sign in to the Walmart Family Mobile account, or the current carrier account, and open Account Details to find the security PIN or transfer PIN required for porting.

You should see: The exact PIN and related account details are written down as shown in the old account.

  2. Check Verizon transfer status

Open Verizon's official transfer or port status page for the new line and read whether the port is waiting on more information or still reports a problem.

You should see: The status names the blocker, such as incorrect PIN, account number, or address details.

  3. Correct only the rejected fields

Resubmit the port using the exact old-carrier account number, account ZIP, and PIN from the old account. Avoid guessing or using an older PIN saved elsewhere.

You should see: Verizon accepts the updated information or shows a new, more specific error.

  4. Recheck status after a few hours

Wait a few hours, then open the Verizon transfer status page again to see whether the error cleared or the port moved to in progress or complete.

You should see: The status improves, completes, or still shows the same blocker for another correction.

Extra tips

What to look for: Verizon transfer status wording such as waiting for more information, incorrect account details, or a problem with the port, plus the security PIN shown in the old carrier account.

Before you change anything: Keep the old Walmart Family Mobile or other carrier account active until the port finishes. Write down the account number, account ZIP, and transfer PIN exactly as shown. Do not cancel the old line early. Only use official Verizon and old-carrier websites or apps you open yourself.
