How do I fix a wrong home address in Google Maps on iPhone?

Answer

A wrong home address usually comes from a Saved place or Google Account address entry. Remove the incorrect Home label in Google Maps or Google Account Addresses, then set the correct home location again.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Removing Home from Google Account Addresses can change the address used across other Google services signed into that account.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the wrong Home place in Maps

Open Google Maps, tap Saved, then open Home. Confirm it shows the incorrect address or pin.

You should see: You can see the wrong Home location currently saved for your account.

  2. Remove the Home label in Maps

Edit or remove the Home label for that place. If Maps offers Set home again afterward, skip it until the wrong pin is gone.

You should see: Home is no longer tied to the incorrect address in Saved places.

  3. Clear Home in Google Account addresses

Open the Google app or Gmail, tap your profile picture, choose Manage your Google Account, go to Personal info, then Addresses, open Home, and remove it if the wrong address is listed there too.

You should see: The incorrect Home address is removed from the Google Account address list.

  4. Set the correct home address

Return to Google Maps, search for the correct address, then set it as Home. Start a test route Home to confirm the pin is right.

You should see: Directions and the Home label use the corrected address.

  5. Suggest an edit if a map pin is wrong

If the building pin itself is misplaced for everyone, open that location, tap Suggest an edit, then fix the pin or request removal of the incorrect details and submit.

You should see: Your map edit is submitted, or the personal Home label already points to the right place.

Extra tips

What to look for: An incorrect Home label in Google Maps Saved places, or a Home address listed under Google Account Personal info > Addresses.

Before you change anything: Confirm the correct street address before editing labels. Sign in to the same Google Account used in Maps. Avoid deleting unrelated work or labeled places you still need. Never share your Google password or verification codes with unexpected callers.
