How do I fix missing audio while watching a series on iPhone?

Answer

Check the iPhone Ring/Silent switch, raise volume with the side buttons while the video is playing, and confirm Bluetooth is not sending audio to another device. If sound is still missing only in one app, force-close that app or try another episode to see whether the title itself lacks an audio track.

Follow these steps

  1. Check Silent mode and media volume

Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not on Silent. Start the episode, then press the volume-up button and confirm the on-screen volume HUD is for media, not ringer.

You should see: Media volume rises and audio becomes audible, or you confirm volume was already up.

  2. Disconnect Bluetooth audio devices

Open Control Center, tap the Bluetooth audio destination if shown, and switch playback to iPhone speakers, or turn Bluetooth off briefly to test.

You should see: Sound plays from the iPhone speakers instead of a paired device.

  3. Test another app and another episode

Play a short clip in a different app. If that works, return to the series app, try a different episode, and check whether the player has a mute icon turned on.

You should see: You know whether the issue is system-wide, app-wide, or limited to one title.

  4. Force-close the streaming app and retry

Force-close the app playing Twist of Love & Revenge or your series, reopen it, and start the episode again with volume up and Bluetooth disconnected.

You should see: Episode audio returns, or the same silent playback gives you a clear reason to reinstall or contact the app’s support.

Extra tips

What to look for: Silent mode status, media volume while the episode plays, and any Bluetooth device shown in Control Center.

Before you change anything: Note whether other apps still play sound on the same iPhone. Check whether wired or Bluetooth headphones are connected. Avoid deleting the streaming app until simple audio checks fail. Never share account passwords or one-time codes with unexpected callers.
