How do I find a lost Android phone with a Google account?

If the phone was signed in to a Google account and had location services available, you can usually try to find, ring, lock, or erase it from Google’s Find Hub / Find My Device on another device or computer.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Erasing a lost phone can permanently remove photos and files that were not backed up, and location tracking may stop afterward.
Follow these steps
Open Find My Device with the same Google account
On another device, open Google’s Find Hub / Find My Device (for example android.com/find) and sign in with the Google account that was on the lost phone. Select that phone from the device list.
You should see: The lost phone appears in the list, with online status or a last-seen time and map location.
Play a sound or check the map location
If the phone shows as nearby or online, use Play sound to help locate it. Otherwise review the map pin and last-seen time, and check that area if it is safe to do so.
You should see: You either hear the phone or have a recent location to search.
Secure the phone if you cannot retrieve it quickly
Use Secure device or Lock to require a screen lock and show a callback message/number on the lock screen. Change important account passwords from a safe device if you believe someone else may have the phone.
You should see: The phone is locked remotely, or you have reduced the risk of account access.
Erase only as a last resort
If the phone cannot be recovered and may expose personal data, choose Erase device in Find My Device. Understand that erase removes data on the phone and may stop further location updates after it completes.
You should see: The erase request is queued or completed, and you know the phone’s data should no longer be reachable.
