How do I reconnect a Bose SoundLink Flex to a Vizio TV?

Answer

Power-cycle the Vizio TV, put the Bose SoundLink Flex back into pairing mode, then reconnect from the TV Bluetooth settings. If it still fails, forget the old Bluetooth pairing on both devices and pair again.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • A Bluetooth speaker reset clears saved phone and TV pairings.
  • Keep the speaker away from water while the ports or buttons are being pressed for reset.

Follow these steps

  1. Power-cycle the Vizio TV

    Turn the TV off, unplug it for about 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.

    You should see: The TV restarts cleanly and Bluetooth settings are available again.

  2. Put the SoundLink Flex in pairing mode

    Turn the Bose speaker on and enter Bluetooth pairing mode so it is discoverable, usually indicated by a blinking Bluetooth light.

    You should see: The speaker is discoverable for a new connection.

  3. Connect from the Vizio Bluetooth menu

    On the Vizio, open Settings, then Bluetooth or Audio accessories, select the SoundLink Flex, and complete pairing.

    You should see: The TV lists the Bose speaker as connected and sound plays through it.

  4. Forget the old pairing and retry

    If it still fails, remove or forget the Bose entry on the TV, restart both devices, and pair again from scratch.

    You should see: A fresh pairing succeeds, or the TV still cannot see the speaker and hardware support is needed.

  5. Factory-reset the speaker only if needed

    If pairing still fails, use Bose’s official reset steps for the SoundLink Flex, then pair once more.

    You should see: The speaker returns to a clean Bluetooth state and can be discovered again.

What to look for: Whether the TV Bluetooth list shows the Bose speaker, pairing-mode lights on the Flex, and any TV message that the speaker is unavailable

Before you change anything: Confirm the speaker is a Bose SoundLink Flex and the TV is a Vizio. Charge or power the speaker fully before pairing. Stand close to the TV during pairing. Avoid factory-resetting the TV first.
