How do I replace the battery cover on a KardiaMobile device?
Answer
Remove the battery, align the cover tabs evenly, and press it on gently without forcing; a tilted cell or uneven tab is the usual reason the cover will not close.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Coin batteries are hazardous if swallowed; keep them away from children and pets.
Follow these steps
Remove the battery and inspect the cover
Take the cover off again, remove the battery, and check whether one plastic tab looks lower, bent, or uneven compared with the other.
You should see: You can see whether a tab or debris is preventing a flush fit.
Reseat the battery flat
Place the CR2016 or listed battery flat in the compartment with the correct side facing up according to the polarity marking.
You should see: The battery sits level and does not rock.
Align and close the cover gently
Hook the cover tabs in first, keep the cover level, and press gently until it snaps. Do not force it if resistance feels sharp.
You should see: The cover closes flush, or you confirm it still will not lock without bending.
Test the device and get parts help if needed
Open the Kardia app and run a quick recording test. If the cover still will not fit, contact AliveCor for a replacement cover or service guidance.
You should see: The device records normally with the cover secured, or you have an official parts path.

Extra tips
What to look for: Whether one cover tab sits lower than the other, whether the battery is fully flat in the compartment, and whether the cover needs force to close
Before you change anything: Use only the battery size listed for your KardiaMobile model. Work on a clean, dry surface so the tiny cover is not lost. Do not bend the cover tabs. Keep the device away from moisture during the swap.
