How do I watch Disney+ on a smart TV after purchasing a subscription?

Answer

Install the Disney+ app from your TV’s app store, open it, and sign in with the same email used to buy the subscription—or use the TV’s on-screen code pairing flow.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not sideload Disney+ from unknown APK sites on Android TV devices.

Follow these steps

  1. Open your TV’s official app store

On the TV remote, open Google Play, Roku Channel Store, Amazon Appstore, or the TV maker’s app store, depending on the platform.

You should see: You can search for apps on the TV.

  2. Install Disney+

Search for Disney+, select the official app, and install it. If the store asks to sign into Google or another account, use your own account on that TV.

You should see: Disney+ appears in the TV’s app list.

  3. Sign in with the subscription account

Open Disney+, choose Sign In, and enter the same email and password used to purchase the plan, or choose the on-screen code option and approve it on a phone.

You should see: The TV shows your Disney+ profiles.

  4. Select a profile and test playback

Pick a profile and play a short title to confirm video starts with sound.

You should see: Disney+ streams successfully on the TV.

  5. Update the app if sign-in fails

If the app errors, update Disney+ from the TV app store, restart the TV, and sign in once more.

You should see: Sign-in works after the update, or the account needs password recovery on Disney+’s official site.

Extra tips

What to look for: A Disney+ app in the TV app store, a sign-in or enter-code screen, and the email address used for the purchase.

Before you change anything: Know which smart TV platform you have (Google TV, Roku, Fire TV, webOS, Tizen, and similar). Have the Disney+ account email and password ready. Confirm the TV is online. Prefer the official Disney+ app over unknown APK sideloads.
