How do I set Hydrawise zones to water twice a day, morning and night?

Answer

In the Hydrawise app, open the controller and the program your lawn or planting zones already use, then add two Start Times—one for early morning and one for evening. Keep the same zone run times unless you intentionally want different durations.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Watering twice daily can overwater some plants or violate local watering rules—confirm plant needs and any outdoor watering restrictions first.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the controller in Hydrawise

Open the Hydrawise app and select the controller that runs the lawn or planting zones you want to change.

You should see: You are viewing the correct controller and can reach its schedules or programs.

  2. Open the existing watering program

Open the program the lawn or planting zones are already using, instead of creating a duplicate program unless you have a specific reason.

You should see: You see the zones, run times, and schedule settings for that program.

  3. Add morning and night start times

Open the schedule details and find Start Times. Add or set one early-morning start and one night start for the days you want watering. Save the schedule.

You should see: The program lists two start times, so the zones will run twice on scheduled days.

  4. Confirm run times and next runs

Review each zone’s run length and the app’s next scheduled runs. Adjust only if morning and night cycles need different durations.

You should see: Hydrawise shows upcoming morning and evening starts that match what you intended.

Extra tips

What to look for: The Hydrawise program for your zones and the Start Times list where you can add morning and night starts.

Before you change anything: Confirm you are editing the correct Hydrawise controller and program. Note the current run times so you can restore them if needed. Avoid enabling conflicting seasonal adjust or odd/even schedules until the two start times work. Never share account passwords with unexpected callers.
