How do I activate or link a Starlink Mini that came with a residential plan?

Answer

Availability and free Mini offers can change by account and promotion. The practical next step is to sign into the exact Starlink account that purchased the Mini, confirm the kit appears under devices or orders, then activate or assign it from that account.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Stop if a site or caller asks for payment outside the official Starlink checkout to unlock or activate the Mini.

Follow these steps

  1. Sign into the purchasing Starlink account

Open the official Starlink app or website and sign into the exact account that purchased or was offered the Mini. Confirm the Mini appears under Your Starlinks, Devices, or Orders.

You should see: You see the Mini kit listed, or you can clearly tell it is missing from this account.

  2. Check the redemption or order email

Open the email inbox tied to that Starlink account, including spam and junk, and look for a Starlink redemption, shipping, or Mini offer message with an order or kit reference.

You should see: You find the order or redemption email, or confirm none arrived for this account.

  3. Open the order details

In the Starlink account, open the Mini order and look for the kit or serial number and any status or button such as Activate, Assign, Pending, or Manage.

You should see: You can see the current activation status and any available action for the Mini.

  4. Activate or assign the Mini if offered

If Activate or Assign is available, follow the on-screen steps for that kit on this same account. Do not create a second Starlink account unless support specifically instructs you to.

You should see: The Mini moves to an active or assigned state on the residential account, or the screen shows why it cannot be linked.

  5. Contact Starlink support from that account

If the Mini does not appear, the offer is gone, or activation will not progress, open Support from inside that same Starlink account and submit a ticket with the order number and Mini kit details.

You should see: A support ticket is created on the correct account with the order information attached.

Extra tips

What to look for: Order status such as Activate, Assign, Pending, or Manage, and whether the Mini appears under Your Starlinks or Devices

Before you change anything: Use the exact Starlink account that ordered or was offered the Mini. Check spam or junk for Starlink redemption or shipping emails. Do not pay a third party to activate hardware. Avoid moving the kit to a different account until you confirm the original order status.
