What happened to Fitbit history after the move to Google Health?

Answer

Older Fitbit history usually still lives in the Fitbit app under the same Fitbit or Google account used before the change. Open Fitbit first and confirm you are signed into the correct account; phone Health apps only show data those apps were allowed to receive.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Unlinking accounts or deleting the Fitbit account can make history harder to recover; avoid that while troubleshooting.

Follow these steps

  1. Open Fitbit with the original account

Open the Fitbit app and confirm you are signed in with the same Fitbit or Google account you used before the Google Health changes. If you see the wrong profile name or email, switch accounts instead of assuming data was erased.

You should see: You are in the Fitbit account that previously stored your history.

  2. Check history inside Fitbit

In the Fitbit app, open past activity, sleep, heart rate, and trends views. Scroll back several days or weeks and pull to refresh or wait for a sync if the watch or tracker is nearby.

You should see: Older entries appear, or you see a clear empty state or error instead of a blank home screen.

  3. Confirm phone Health apps are optional mirrors

If you expected history in Apple Health or another phone Health app, open that app’s sources or connections list and check whether Fitbit (or related Google health sharing) is still allowed. Missing phone-app charts do not always mean Fitbit deleted the source data.

You should see: You can tell whether the phone Health app is connected and receiving Fitbit data.

  4. Use Fitbit or Google account help if history is still gone

If the correct Fitbit account still shows no history, open Fitbit or Google’s official help for Fitbit data and Google account migration, and follow only those recovery or support paths—do not use third-party “restore history” sites.

You should see: You reach an official support article or contact path for missing Fitbit history.

Extra tips

What to look for: Whether past activity, sleep, and heart-rate trends still appear in the Fitbit app for the same account, and any error or prompt when opening history.

Before you change anything: Confirm the email or Google account you used with Fitbit before the change. Note whether history is missing only on a phone Health app or also inside Fitbit. Avoid unlinking accounts or deleting the Fitbit account while checking. Never share passwords or codes with unexpected callers.
