Why can't I call out on Cricket Wireless after transferring phones?
Answer
After a phone transfer, Cricket lines often need a network refresh: Airplane Mode toggle, restart, and confirmation that the SIM/eSIM is active for voice on the new device.
Follow these steps
Toggle Airplane Mode
Turn Airplane Mode on for about 15 seconds, turn it off, and wait until cellular signal returns before placing a test call.
You should see: The phone reregisters on Cricket and outbound calling works, or the failure remains.
Restart the phone
Power the iPhone fully off and back on, then try another outbound call to a known number.
You should see: Calling works after reboot, or still fails.
Confirm the Cricket line is selected for calls
Open Settings > Cellular, confirm the Cricket SIM/eSIM is on, and that it is selected for cellular data and voice if multiple lines exist.
You should see: Cricket is the active line for calls.
Contact Cricket to refresh the line
If calls still fail, contact Cricket through official support and ask them to refresh provisioning on the transferred line.
You should see: Cricket resets the line or identifies an account-side block.

Extra tips
What to look for: No outbound dial tone or failed call attempts after a SIM or device transfer, and whether texts or data still work
Before you change anything: Confirm the Cricket SIM or eSIM is in the phone you are testing. Note whether texts and data work while calls fail. Have your Cricket account number or phone number ready. Never share account PINs with unexpected callers.
