Why does a TV say no internet connection while other TVs work?
Answer
When one TV fails while another works, the problem is usually that TV's Wi‑Fi connection or software—not the whole Spectrum modem. Restart the TV and router, then reconnect that TV to Wi‑Fi.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- A factory reset clears apps and sign-ins; try restarts first.
- Ignore popups or callers offering to fix TV Wi‑Fi for a fee.
Follow these steps
Restart the affected TV
Unplug the TV from power for a full 60 seconds, plug it back in, then reopen Network settings and test internet apps.
You should see: The TV reconnects, or still reports no internet.
Restart the Spectrum modem and router
Unplug the modem/router for 30 seconds, restore power, wait until online lights are normal, then retest the downstairs TV.
You should see: Network gear is fresh and the TV can see the SSID.
Forget and rejoin Wi‑Fi on that TV
In the TV network menu, forget the current Wi‑Fi network, reconnect with the password, and run the built-in network test.
You should see: The TV shows connected with a working internet test.
Compare with a working device in the same room
Stand near the TV with a phone on the same Wi‑Fi. If the phone works but the TV does not, the TV software or Wi‑Fi radio needs further support or a wired adapter.
You should see: You confirm a TV-specific fault versus a room signal problem.

Extra tips
What to look for: The exact 'no internet connection' message, whether other devices online, and Wi‑Fi signal strength in the TV network settings
Before you change anything: Confirm phones or another TV can browse on the same network. Note whether the TV is on Wi‑Fi or Ethernet. Avoid factory-resetting the TV until simpler restarts fail. Never share router admin passwords with unexpected callers.
