Why does FitShow connect to a Garmin heart rate monitor but not show heart rate during a workout?
Answer
If FitShow shows the Garmin HRM only in the connect menu, the strap is usually paired as a settings device but not selected as the active heart rate source for the workout.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Do not install unofficial FitShow APKs from random websites to fix Bluetooth features.
Follow these steps
Prepare the Garmin strap and close competing apps
Moisten the strap contact pads, wear it snugly, and force-close other fitness apps that might keep the HRM connected in the background.
You should see: The strap is ready and only FitShow should be using it.
Reconnect the HRM in FitShow
In FitShow’s connect or device menu, disconnect and reconnect the Garmin HRM until it shows connected and displays a heart rate value there.
You should see: Live HRM data appears in the connect menu again.
Start the workout with the HRM already connected
Keep the HRM connected, then start the treadmill workout in FitShow without leaving the app or switching phones mid-start.
You should see: BPM appears on the workout screen, or it still stays blank only during the run.
Toggle phone Bluetooth and retry once
If workout HR is still missing, toggle phone Bluetooth off and on, reopen FitShow, reconnect the Garmin strap, and start a short test workout.
You should see: Heart rate displays during the test, or the issue remains app-side.
Check FitShow device settings for a second sensor option
Look for any in-workout sensor picker or treadmill HR preference and choose the Garmin Bluetooth HRM instead of console grips or no sensor.
You should see: The Garmin strap is selected as the active source and BPM appears.

Extra tips
What to look for: Successful pairing in the connect menu without live BPM during the run, and Bluetooth permissions enabled for FitShow.
Before you change anything: Moisten the Garmin strap sensors as the manufacturer recommends. Turn off other fitness apps that might hold the Bluetooth HRM. Keep the phone close to the treadmill console area. Note your FitShow and phone Bluetooth settings before changing them.
