How do I get YouTube out of Guest or Kids mode after an accidental reset?
Answer
YouTube is usually stuck in YouTube Kids or a guest profile after a reset. Enter the parent code if prompted, choose Exit Kids or Leave Kids, then open the profile menu and sign in with the Google account you normally use for YouTube.
Follow these steps
Open YouTube settings or the profile menu
From the YouTube home screen, open the left menu or profile icon and look for Settings, Kids, or account options.
You should see: You see profile, Kids, or account controls instead of only the Kids/Guest home feed.
Enter the parent code if Kids mode is active
If the app asks for a Parent code or PIN, enter the code that was set when Kids mode was enabled on this device.
You should see: Kids restrictions unlock so Exit Kids or account switching becomes available.
Exit Kids or leave the Kids profile
Select Exit Kids, Leave Kids, or Switch account—whichever label appears—then confirm you want the regular YouTube experience.
You should see: The app leaves the Kids profile and shows the standard YouTube interface or a sign-in prompt.
Leave Guest and sign into your Google account
Open the profile icon again. Choose Sign out or Use YouTube signed out if still on Guest, then Sign in with the Google account you normally use for YouTube.
You should see: Your account name, subscriptions, and history appear after a successful sign-in.
Restart the YouTube app once
Fully close YouTube (or restart the TV/streaming device), open YouTube again, and confirm it still opens under the signed-in account rather than Guest or Kids.
You should see: YouTube starts in the correct account without returning to Guest or Kids mode.

Extra tips
What to look for: Labels such as Guest, Kids, YouTube Kids, Parent code, Exit Kids, Leave Kids, or a profile icon with no account name.
Before you change anything: Confirm you are in the YouTube or YouTube Kids app, not a different streaming app. Have the parent/guardian PIN ready if Kids mode was set up on this TV or device. Know which Google account you use for YouTube subscriptions and history. Do not share that PIN or account codes with anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.
