How do I finish a Rogers-to-Koodo number port when the port request stalls?

Answer

Most stalled Rogers-to-Koodo ports are waiting on a port-out confirmation text on the old Rogers line, or on the new carrier finishing activation after that reply.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Canceling the old Rogers line too early can strand the number before Koodo finishes the move.

Follow these steps

  1. Check for the Rogers port-out text

Put the old Rogers SIM in a working phone if needed, then look for a Rogers text asking you to confirm the port-out. Reply with the exact approval word or option the message requests.

You should see: You receive and reply to the port-out confirmation, or you can confirm no such text has arrived.

  2. Confirm the Koodo SIM or eSIM is active

Insert the Koodo SIM or follow Koodo's eSIM setup, restart the iPhone, then check Settings > Cellular for the Koodo line and signal bars.

You should see: The Koodo line appears in Cellular settings, or you see a clear activation or no-service status.

  3. Verify account details for the port

In the Rogers and Koodo accounts, confirm the phone number, account number, and any port PIN match what was used for the transfer request.

You should see: The port details match on both sides, or you find a mismatch to correct with the carriers.

  4. Ask the carriers to complete or release the port

If the confirmation text never arrived, or service is still missing after you replied, contact Rogers about releasing the number and Koodo about finishing the inbound port. Use official phone numbers or in-app chat only.

You should see: A carrier agent confirms the port status and next step, such as resending the text or completing activation.

Extra tips

What to look for: A Rogers port-out confirmation text on the old SIM, status in the Koodo account or app, and whether the iPhone shows No Service or cannot receive calls and messages

Before you change anything: Keep the old Rogers SIM available until the port finishes. Note the phone number, account PINs, and the exact time the port was requested. Do not cancel the old account early unless the new carrier says the number has already moved. Never share account passwords or one-time codes with unexpected callers or texts.
