How do I reinstall the Fitbit app after it was deleted?

Answer

Reinstall Fitbit only from Google Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone. If you see Unable to Install or the download spins and stops, free storage space, restart the phone, then remove any partial Fitbit install and try again while signed into the correct store account.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not download Fitbit APK files from unofficial sites; use Google Play or the App Store only.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the official store listing

On Android open Google Play, or on iPhone open the App Store, then search for Fitbit by Google and open the official listing.

You should see: You see the real Fitbit app page with an Install or Get button.

  2. Install or retry after a restart

Tap Install or Get. If you get Unable to Install or the progress spinner stalls, restart the phone, reopen the store, and try Install again.

You should see: The app installs, or the same store error repeats.

  3. Clear a partial install if needed

If install still fails, delete any partial Fitbit app entry, confirm the phone has free storage, then return to the official listing and install again.

You should see: A clean install completes and the Fitbit icon appears.

  4. Sign in and reconnect the tracker

Open Fitbit, sign in with your Fitbit account, and follow on-screen Bluetooth pairing steps for your watch or tracker.

You should see: The app signs in and begins syncing with your Fitbit device.

Extra tips

What to look for: An Unable to Install message, a download that spins then stops, or a successful Fitbit icon after install.

Before you change anything: Confirm whether the phone is Android or iPhone. Stay signed into the usual Google or Apple ID for that device. Note your Fitbit account email before opening the app again. Never sideload Fitbit from unknown APK sites.
