Why won't a phone find a Fitbit Charge 6 over Bluetooth?
Answer
If Bluetooth cannot find a Fitbit Charge 6, charge it, restart the tracker from its Settings menu, then retry pairing from the Fitbit app with phone Bluetooth on. A frozen or unresponsive Charge 6 often needs about 30 minutes on the charger before Restart Device becomes available.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- A factory reset erases the tracker and should wait until restart and re-pair steps have failed.
Follow these steps
Charge the Charge 6 first
Place the Charge 6 on its official charger for about 30 minutes if the screen is dim, frozen, or blank before trying other steps.
You should see: The screen wakes or shows charging progress.
Restart the Charge 6
On the Charge 6, swipe to the Settings app, scroll down, and choose Restart Device.
You should see: The tracker restarts and returns to the clock or setup screen.
Toggle phone Bluetooth and reopen Fitbit
Turn phone Bluetooth off and on, force-close the Fitbit app, reopen it, and start the Charge 6 setup or connect flow again.
You should see: The app begins searching and either finds Charge 6 or shows a clear pairing timeout.
Forget an old Bluetooth entry
If the phone still lists an old Charge 6 or Fitbit device, forget that entry in Bluetooth settings, then pair again from the Fitbit app rather than the phone's generic Bluetooth menu alone.
You should see: A fresh pairing request appears and the Charge 6 connects in the Fitbit app.

Extra tips
What to look for: Whether the Charge 6 screen responds, a Restart Device option in the tracker's Settings list, and whether the phone Bluetooth scan can see Charge 6 at all.
Before you change anything: Confirm the tracker is a Fitbit Charge 6. Install or update the official Fitbit app on the phone. Keep the Charge 6 on its charger if the screen is blank or frozen. Avoid factory reset until a simple restart and re-pair have been tried.
