How do I manage Amazon Alexa devices in the Alexa app?

Open the Amazon Alexa app, tap Devices at the bottom, then select the Echo or other Alexa device you want to view or change. From there you can check Wi-Fi, rename the device, or run a routine check.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Only use the official Amazon Alexa app when changing account or device settings.
Follow these steps
Open the Alexa app Devices tab
Open the Amazon Alexa app and tap Devices at the bottom of the screen.
You should see: A list of Echo devices, plugs, or other smart devices appears.
Select the device to manage
Tap the Echo or Alexa device you want to check, then review Wi-Fi, device name, and settings options.
You should see: You see that device's settings page and can make changes.
Confirm the Amazon account if the list is empty
If no devices appear, open the app menu or profile area, confirm the signed-in Amazon account, and switch to the account that owns the Echo if needed.
You should see: Your Echo devices appear under Devices for the correct account.
Test Alexa after any change
Ask Alexa a simple question such as the weather to confirm the device still responds after you change settings.
You should see: Alexa answers normally from the selected device.

What to look for: The Devices tab in the Alexa app and your Echo listed by name
Before you change anything: Confirm you are signed into the same Amazon account used to set up the Echo. Install or update the official Amazon Alexa app from the App Store or Google Play. Note the device name shown on the Echo if you renamed it earlier. Never share Amazon account codes from unexpected callers.
