What should I do if a secure chat join link disappears?

Answer

If a secure join link vanishes from chat, ask the same agent to resend it in the original official chat, and open it only from that conversation. Do not reuse links from email or texts you were not expecting.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Scammers often send fake “secure join” links by text or email after seeing you need help.

Follow these steps

  1. Return to the original chat

Reopen the same official chat window or transcript and look for the most recent secure link message.

You should see: You either find the original link or confirm it is gone or expired.

  2. Ask for a fresh link

Tell the agent the join link disappeared or expired and ask them to send a new secure session link in that same chat.

You should see: A new link appears in the official conversation.

  3. Open the link carefully

Click the new link once, allow the pop-up if your browser prompts for the official site, and do not enter passwords on any page that looks unrelated to the service you contacted.

You should see: The secure session joins successfully from the official page.

Extra tips

What to look for: Expired session messages, a missing hyperlink in the chat transcript, and whether the browser blocked a pop-up or redirected tab.

Before you change anything: Stay in the original support chat when possible. Do not enter passwords on a link that arrived from a new unexpected sender. Avoid installing remote-access software unless you initiated the support session. Never share one-time codes with callers outside the official chat.
