What should I do if a Koodo to TELUS number transfer stalls after about 90 minutes?

Answer

If a Koodo-to-TELUS port was approved but the line still has not switched after the expected window, restart the iPhone, check for carrier updates, and confirm the transfer status with TELUS or Koodo before starting a second port request.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Only confirm transfer details through official TELUS or Koodo channels; ignore unexpected texts asking for account passwords or codes.

Follow these steps

  1. Restart the iPhone and recheck the carrier name

Power the iPhone fully off, wait about two minutes, turn it back on, then check the status bar for TELUS, Koodo, or No Service.

You should see: The phone either shows TELUS service or still shows the previous carrier or no service.

  2. Install any carrier settings update

Connect to Wi-Fi, open Settings, and install any Carrier Settings Update prompt. Also check Settings > General > About for a carrier update popup.

You should see: Carrier settings are current, or no update is offered.

  3. Confirm the transfer status with both carriers

Check the official TELUS and Koodo apps or account pages for the port or transfer status. If it still says pending or failed after the expected window, contact TELUS support with the order details and ask them to complete or re-push the transfer.

You should see: You get a clear status such as completed, pending, or needs action.

  4. Keep the old line until TELUS works

Do not cancel the Koodo line or remove the old SIM/eSIM until calls and texts work on TELUS with the transferred number.

You should see: You still have a fallback path if the port needs another push.

Extra tips

What to look for: Transfer approval texts or emails, missing TELUS carrier name in Status, No Service, or still showing Koodo after the expected transfer time

Before you change anything: Note any Koodo or TELUS transfer confirmation messages. Keep the old SIM or eSIM profile until the new line works. Do not request another port while one is already pending unless support asks you to. Use only official Koodo or TELUS apps and support channels.
