What should you do if cellular disappears after deleting an eSIM on iPhone?

Answer

Check whether the AT&T eSIM/SIM was removed by mistake, then re-add the AT&T plan from Settings or AT&T’s official eSIM tools; reinstall Ubigi only after primary carrier service is restored.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Deleting eSIMs can remove active carrier service until re-provisioned.
  • Only use official AT&T and Ubigi activation flows—not emailed QR codes from unknown senders.

Follow these steps

  1. Inspect Cellular plans

Open Settings > Cellular and see whether any AT&T plan remains listed or if the phone shows Set Up Cellular with no lines.

You should see: You know whether the primary AT&T line is missing or only turned off.

  2. Turn the AT&T line on if it is listed

If AT&T still appears, enable Turn On This Line and set it as the default voice/data line, then restart the iPhone.

You should see: Carrier signal returns for AT&T.

  3. Re-add AT&T eSIM if missing

Use Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM and choose the AT&T transfer/QR option from AT&T’s official account tools, or insert the physical AT&T SIM if you have one.

You should see: AT&T appears under Cellular and activates.

  4. Confirm calls and data

Place a test call and open a webpage on cellular before reinstalling any travel eSIM.

You should see: Primary AT&T service works again.

  5. Reinstall Ubigi carefully

Only after AT&T is stable, reinstall the Ubigi eSIM from Ubigi’s official app/QR and assign it as secondary/travel data if desired.

You should see: Both lines show correctly without wiping AT&T again.

Extra tips

What to look for: Settings > Cellular showing no plans, or only a missing AT&T line after the Ubigi delete.

Before you change anything: Note whether you still have a physical AT&T SIM. Have AT&T account login ready. Do not erase the iPhone to fix missing cellular.
