Why can’t I hear phone calls through Philips hearing aids after an update?
Answer
Call audio problems after a hearing-aid or phone update are usually Bluetooth routing glitches. Restart Bluetooth, reboot the hearing aids and iPhone, reopen the Philips HearLink app, then confirm the hearing aids are selected as the call audio device during an active call.
Follow these steps
Reset Bluetooth on the iPhone
Open Settings > Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on. Wait until the Philips hearing aids reconnect.
You should see: The hearing aids show Connected under Bluetooth.
Restart the hearing aids and phone
Restart the aids by opening/closing battery doors or powering rechargeable aids off and on per the Philips manual. Restart the iPhone, then reopen the Philips HearLink 2 app and confirm both sides are connected.
You should see: HearLink shows the aids online without connection errors.
Route call audio to the hearing aids
Place a test call. Open the audio route controls on the call screen and choose the Philips hearing aids (not iPhone or Speaker). Ask the other person to speak and adjust aid volume in HearLink if needed.
You should see: Call audio is clearly audible in the hearing aids.
Forget and re-pair if still quiet
In Settings > Bluetooth, forget the hearing aids, then re-pair through HearLink’s official pairing flow. Retest local and long-distance calls.
You should see: Call streaming works consistently after re-pairing.

Extra tips
What to look for: Calls ring on iPhone but are quiet in the aids; Bluetooth connected in Settings; HearLink app connection status; call audio route picker during a call.
Before you change anything: Charge the hearing aids and iPhone. Know whether the aids use rechargeable cases or battery doors. Do not factory reset the aids until reconnect steps fail. Keep the official HearLink app from the App Store.
