Why does a TCL TV say the Wi-Fi password is wrong when it isn’t?
Answer
When other devices join fine, the TV usually has a stuck saved network profile or a mistyped character. Forgetting the network on the TV and rejoining after a router restart typically fixes it.
Follow these steps
Restart the router
Unplug the router for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and wait 3 to 5 minutes until Wi-Fi is fully back on other devices.
You should see: Phones and computers reconnect normally to the network.
Forget the network on the TV
On the TCL TV, go to Settings > Network & Internet, select the Wi-Fi name, and choose Forget network.
You should see: The saved network profile is removed from the TV.
Toggle Wi-Fi and rejoin
Turn Wi-Fi off, wait a few seconds, turn it back on, select the network, and enter the password carefully.
You should see: The TV connects and shows a normal internet status.
Try 2.4 GHz if 5 GHz keeps failing
If the router broadcasts separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz names, try the 2.4 GHz network, which some TVs join more reliably.
You should see: The TV stays connected on one of the bands.

Extra tips
What to look for: Wrong password, authentication error, or failed join messages on the TV while phones connect to the same network successfully
Before you change anything: Confirm the exact Wi-Fi password from a working phone or the router label. Watch for capital letters and similar characters such as 0 and O. Use the TV’s own network settings screen only. Avoid factory-resetting the TV until network steps are tried.
