Why does Sling ask me to pay again on a third TV?

Answer

Sling usually limits how many devices can stream at once and can show a lock or paywall on an extra TV if you are signed into the wrong account option or need to sign in again. Sign out on the third TV, restart it, and sign in with the existing Sling account—choose Sign In, not a new Subscribe flow.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Starting Subscribe again can create a duplicate subscription charge.

Follow these steps

  1. Sign out of Sling on the third TV

Open the Sling app on the problem TV, open account or settings, and sign out completely.

You should see: The app returns to a Sign In / Subscribe welcome screen.

  2. Restart the TV

Power the TV off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.

You should see: Sling launches cleanly after reboot.

  3. Sign in to the existing account

Open Sling, choose Sign In—not Subscribe—and enter the same account used on the other TVs.

You should see: Your package appears without an immediate new checkout.

  4. Test Blue package channels

Open the guide and try a channel included in your package, then retry any previously locked channel such as TBS.

You should see: Included channels play, or a specific lock/stream-limit message remains to address next.

  5. Stop extra streams if still locked

Pause Sling on the other TVs, then retry the third TV. If needed, review device management in the Sling account on a phone or browser.

You should see: The third TV plays within Sling’s simultaneous-stream limit.

Extra tips

What to look for: A lock icon on channels such as TBS, a Subscribe versus Sign In choice, and whether other TVs are actively streaming.

Before you change anything: Know which Sling package you bought and the email for that account. Check how many TVs are streaming at the same moment. Prefer Sign In over starting a new subscription. Avoid sharing your Sling password with unexpected helpers.
