Why will my Olight flashlight not turn on?

Olight lights often fail to turn on because of a low battery, incomplete charge contact, lockout mode, or a dirty tailcap/threads. Charge until the indicator shows ready, unlock the light if needed, clean contacts, and test the switch through brightness levels.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Do not pry open sealed rechargeable packs or expose lithium cells to damage.
- Water-damaged lights can be unsafe to keep charging.
Follow these steps
Charge until the indicator finishes
Connect the official magnetic charger or cable and wait until the indicator shows a full/ready state rather than a quick top-up.
You should see: The charge indicator reaches full/green or the equivalent ready state.
Check for lockout mode
Follow your model’s unlock sequence—often a press-and-hold or multiple clicks from the side switch—then try turning the light on.
You should see: The light wakes from lockout or still ignores button presses.
Clean and reseat charging contacts
Wipe the magnetic charge points and threads with a dry cloth, reconnect the charger firmly, and retry power-on.
You should see: Charging behaves normally and the light turns on.
Test switches and brightness levels
Turn the light on and cycle brightness levels; also test the tail switch if your model has one.
You should see: Light output returns at some level, or the unit stays dead and needs Olight support/warranty help.

Extra tips
What to look for: Charge LED color (often red while charging, green when full), whether a lockout blink occurs, and any reaction from the side or tail switch.
