Why won’t my Meta Ray-Ban glasses charge in the case?

Answer

Charge the case itself from a known-good USB cable and adapter for 30–60 minutes, reseat the glasses on clean contacts, and reset the case if the app still shows disconnected. A green case light often means the glasses or case are already at a high charge—not necessarily a fault.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not use damaged cables or wet cleaning methods on charging contacts.
  • Only install Meta’s official app updates; sideloaded APKs can steal account access.

Follow these steps

  1. Charge the case first

Plug the case into a known-good USB cable and wall adapter for at least 30–60 minutes. Watch for a charging LED. Remember that green can mean the glasses are already full or the case itself is highly charged.

You should see: The case shows a charging indicator and is no longer completely depleted.

  2. Reseat the glasses on clean contacts

Wipe the case and glasses charging contacts with a dry soft cloth, then dock the glasses firmly until they sit correctly. Leave them docked while the case remains on power.

You should see: The glasses begin charging or the LED indicates a full/ready state.

  3. Reset the charging case

If the app still says disconnected, follow Meta’s official case reset for your model (often a pin-hole or button sequence). Wait for white flashing to stop, then redock the glasses and reopen the app.

You should see: The case finishes reset and the app can see the glasses again.

  4. Retest in the Meta app

Open the official Meta View app, confirm Bluetooth/permissions, and check battery readings for glasses and case. If charge still never rises, contact Meta support with LED behavior notes.

You should see: Battery percentage increases over time, or you have clear evidence for a hardware replacement path.

Extra tips

What to look for: Case LED color (green vs white flashing); Meta View app connection status; clean pogo contacts; whether the case gains charge on USB.

Before you change anything: Use a known-good USB cable and power adapter. Clean contacts gently—no liquids inside ports. Update the Meta View app from the official store. Avoid third-party “charge fix” apps.
