Why won’t the Yealink SIP-T48U web login page load from its IP address?
Answer
A connection timed out error usually means the computer is not on the same network as the phone, the IP is wrong, or the phone’s web interface is unreachable—not that the admin password is wrong yet.
Follow these steps
Read the phone’s current IP address
On the T48U, open the status or network information menu and write down the IPv4 address shown there.
You should see: A current LAN IP such as one starting with the same first numbers as other local devices is recorded.
Confirm the computer is on the same network
Connect the computer by Ethernet or Wi-Fi to the same router or VLAN the phone uses, then compare the computer’s IP subnet with the phone’s.
You should see: Both devices appear on the same local subnet.
Ping or open the phone IP
From the computer, open a browser to http:// followed by the phone IP. If it still times out, try pinging that IP from a command prompt or terminal.
You should see: The Yealink web login page loads, or the ping fails and points to a network path problem.
Restart the phone and retry
Reboot the T48U from its menu or by power-cycling PoE/power, wait for it to register, re-check the IP, and open the web page again.
You should see: The web interface becomes reachable after reboot.
Check web access settings if the page still fails
If the phone is reachable by ping but the page will not load, review local network firewall rules or Yealink admin settings that disable the web server, using official Yealink documentation.
You should see: Web management is enabled or a firewall rule blocking access is identified.

Extra tips
What to look for: Browser errors such as took too long to respond, ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT, or can’t reach this page when opening the phone IP
Before you change anything: Get the phone’s IP from the Yealink status menu, not from memory. Use a computer connected to the same office or home LAN segment. Avoid changing router firewall rules until basic reachability is tested. Do not enter admin passwords on a page that is not clearly the phone’s local interface.
