How do I check whether an unrecognized DoorDash charge is a DashPass membership fee?

Answer

An unrecognized DoorDash charge is often a DashPass membership payment. Check how the charge is described on the statement, then open Billing History under Manage DashPass to see whether a membership payment matches the date and amount. If it does not match, check your orders and ask DoorDash support.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Phone numbers that appear in search results or unexpected messages may not belong to DoorDash. Use only the support options inside the DoorDash app or on its official website.

Follow these steps

  1. Read the description on your statement

Look at how the charge is listed on your bank or card statement or in its app. If the description says DoorDash DashPass or DashPass, the charge is most likely a membership payment rather than a food order.

You should see: You know whether the statement description matches the DashPass membership name.

  2. Open Billing History for DashPass

In the DoorDash app or on doordash.com, tap the account icon, go to Manage DashPass, then open Billing History. DoorDash's What is DashPass? help page describes this same check for matching a DashPass charge.

You should see: Billing History lists your DashPass payments with dates and amounts. A payment with the same date and amount means the charge is probably your membership.

  3. Look for a matching order if nothing matches

If the amount and date do not appear in Billing History, look in your order history for an order placed on or just before the charge date. An order charge is separate from a membership payment, so compare the amounts and dates carefully.

You should see: You either find an order that matches the charge or confirm that the charge is not a membership payment or an order you recognize.

  4. Check whether someone else has access

Ask whether a family member, roommate, or partner might have your DoorDash login, a phone or computer signed in to your account, or your saved card. Only the account owner should change payment or membership settings.

You should see: You know whether anyone else could have placed an order or signed up for DashPass, and you have raised it with them if needed.

  5. Cancel the membership if you do not want it

Tap the account icon, go to Manage DashPass, tap Cancel Membership, choose a reason, tap Select reason, then tap Cancel DashPass and Got it. DoorDash's cancellation guide says to cancel at least 24 hours before the next scheduled payment to avoid that charge. The same page also describes a Pause Membership option.

You should see: Manage DashPass shows the membership as canceled, and you receive a confirmation email. Benefits continue until the end of the current billing period, or end immediately if you cancel during a free trial.

  6. Contact DoorDash support about a charge you cannot match

If Billing History and your orders do not explain the charge, contact DoorDash through the help or support option in the app or on doordash.com. Give the date, the amount, and which card the charge appeared on. If DoorDash does not resolve it, ask your card issuer about a dispute, since the bank's process varies.

You should see: Support gives you an explanation or a refund decision, and you have a written record of the contact.

Extra tips

What to look for: The description on the bank or card statement, the amount and date shown in Billing History, and whether the membership shows a renewal date.

Before you change anything: Write down the amount, the date, and the exact text shown on the statement. Check whether anyone else in your household uses your DoorDash login or saved card. Do not click links or call numbers from unexpected emails or search results; use the DoorDash app or help center. Keep your statement and any DoorDash emails in case you need to dispute the charge.
