How do I add my Yahoo or Comcast email to an iPhone after setting it up on iPad?
Answer
On the iPhone, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account and sign in with the same Yahoo or Microsoft/Google-style flow you used on the iPad. If the mailbox is Comcast/Xfinity mail forwarded or accessed through Yahoo, add the account type that actually holds the inbox you read on the iPad.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Enter mail passwords only in iOS Settings or the provider’s official sign-in screen.
Follow these steps
Mirror the iPad account list
On the iPad, open Settings > Mail > Accounts and write down each account type and address that receives the mail you need.
You should see: You know whether to add Yahoo, Comcast/Xfinity, or both on the iPhone.
Add the same account on iPhone
On the iPhone, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account, choose Yahoo or the matching provider, and sign in with the same credentials used on the iPad.
You should see: The account adds and Mail shows the inbox.
Add Comcast separately if needed
If Comcast mail is a separate account on the iPad, add it on the iPhone with the Xfinity/Comcast login or the IMAP settings shown on the iPad account detail screen.
You should see: Comcast messages appear on the iPhone as they do on the iPad.
Send a test message
Send a test email to the account and refresh Mail on the iPhone to confirm new messages arrive.
You should see: Incoming and outgoing mail work on the iPhone.

Extra tips
What to look for: Which account type is listed under Mail on the iPad, any sign-in errors on the iPhone, and whether Comcast messages appear inside Yahoo or a separate inbox
Before you change anything: On the iPad, note the exact account entries under Settings > Mail > Accounts. Have the Yahoo and Comcast passwords ready. Use Apple Settings, not a random email link. Do not share one-time codes with unexpected callers.
