How do I get missing books back on a Kindle Fire?

Books on a Fire tablet often vanish because a library filter is hiding them, not because they were deleted from the Amazon account. Set the Books filter to All, confirm you are signed into the correct Amazon account, then restart the tablet if the library still looks empty.

Follow these steps
Clear Books filters
Open the Books app, then tap the filter that says Read, Unread, Downloaded, or similar. Change it to All, or clear any device-only filter so cloud books can appear.
You should see: More titles show in the library list.
Check Library view
In Books, open Library and confirm the filter or collection is set to All rather than a custom shelf, sample list, or downloaded-only view.
You should see: Your full library list is visible, including books not currently downloaded.
Confirm the Amazon account
Open Settings on the Fire tablet and check the Amazon account signed in. Make sure it is the same account that purchased the books.
You should see: The tablet is using the correct Amazon account for content.
Restart the Fire tablet
Hold the power button, choose Restart, wait for the tablet to finish booting, reconnect to Wi-Fi, then reopen Books > Library.
You should see: The library refreshes and previously missing books reappear or can be downloaded again.
Redownload titles if needed
Tap a missing book cloud icon or title in Library to download it again to the device.
