Why does only one side of JBL Tune 720BT headphones work over Bluetooth?
Answer
When both ears work with a cable but only one side works over Bluetooth, the headphones usually need a Bluetooth reset and a clean re-pair to the phone. A full reset on the JBL Tune 720BT, followed by forgetting the device on the phone and pairing again, fixes this in most cases.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- A reset clears the current Bluetooth pairings on the headphones, so each device must be paired again afterward.
Follow these steps
Forget the headphones on the phone
On the phone, open Bluetooth settings, select JBL Tune 720BT, and choose Forget This Device or Unpair.
You should see: The headphones no longer appear as a saved Bluetooth device.
Reset the JBL Tune 720BT
Power the headphones on, then press and hold Volume + and Volume - together for about 5 seconds until the headset resets or the indicator shows a reset state.
You should see: The headphones restart or enter a fresh pairing-ready state.
Pair again from scratch
Put the headphones in pairing mode, then connect them again from the phone's Bluetooth menu as a new device.
You should see: The phone connects successfully and audio plays in both ears.
Test with another device
If one ear is still silent, pair the headphones to a second phone or tablet and play the same stereo test track.
You should see: Both ears work on the second device, pointing back to the first phone, or the same fault appears on every device.

Extra tips
What to look for: Left-only audio over Bluetooth, normal stereo sound over the headphone cable, and whether the phone still lists JBL Tune 720BT under Bluetooth devices.
Before you change anything: Confirm the exact model is JBL Tune 720BT. Note whether the issue happens with only one phone or with every Bluetooth device. Charge the headphones before resetting. Avoid forcing the ear cups or opening the headset.
