How do I cancel service and return equipment I just received?
Answer
Cancel through the provider official account site or app, then follow their published return instructions for labels, packing, and deadlines. Returning gear without an official cancellation can leave charges running.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Unreturned provider equipment often continues to bill; keep tracking until the account shows the return accepted.
- Scammers may impersonate cancelation agents and ask for passwords or payment cards—use only official account channels.
Follow these steps
Cancel on the official account page
Sign in at the provider real website or app. Look for Cancel service, Disconnect, Move, or similar. Complete cancellation or start a chat or call from that page so the order is logged on your account.
You should see: You receive a cancellation confirmation number or email.
Start the equipment return
In the same account area, open Return equipment or Shipping. Print the label or note the retail drop-off code the provider specifies. Confirm the return deadline.
You should see: You have an official return method and due date.
Pack and ship or drop off with proof
Include all required items (modem, power supplies, remotes as listed). Ship with tracking or use the approved store drop-off. Keep the receipt or tracking number.
You should see: Equipment is in transit or dropped off with documented proof.
Watch the final bill
After the provider marks the return received, check the next bill for remaining service days and confirm there is no ongoing equipment rental fee. Contact official support with your tracking number if a fee remains.
You should see: Service is ended and equipment charges stop.

Extra tips
What to look for: Official Cancel, Disconnect, or Return equipment pages in your provider account—not third-party reseller sites
Before you change anything: Find your account number and the ship date of the equipment. Photograph serial numbers on the devices before packing. Do not throw equipment away—unreturned gear often bills monthly. Never share account passwords with someone who cold-calls offering to cancel for you.
