How do I reset shake-awake on a Holosun HS507C X2 sight?

Answer

Shake-awake problems on an HS507C X2 are usually fixed by a full on-device reset of the sleep timeout, then leaving the sight powered so the setting can save correctly.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Always treat firearms as loaded and keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction while adjusting an optic.

Follow these steps

  1. Install fresh batteries

Replace the sight battery with a fresh one of the correct type and reassemble the battery tray fully.

You should see: The sight powers on normally with the reticle visible when turned on manually.

  2. Turn the sight on

Press the power or brightness button to turn the sight on so the reticle is lit before changing sleep settings.

You should see: The reticle is on and button presses register.

  3. Set and save the sleep timeout

Use + or - to change the sleep or shake-awake timeout, then press + and - together to save the setting according to Holosun’s button sequence for the X2.

You should see: The sight accepts the save action and returns to a normal display state.

  4. Power cycle and test shake-awake

Turn the sight off and back on with either button, leave it on long enough to sleep, then move the firearm or optic to test wake-up.

You should see: The reticle wakes from sleep when the sight is moved.

Extra tips

What to look for: The reticle stays off after movement, with no unusual error lights on the sight

Before you change anything: Confirm the sight model is an HS507C X2 or closely related Holosun model. Use fresh batteries before changing sleep settings. Note the current brightness level before resetting. Keep the sight pointed in a safe direction while handling it.
