How do I unlock AT&T voicemail on a Samsung phone?

Answer

Reset the AT&T voicemail password through your official AT&T account tools, then call voicemail again and set a new PIN. A phone reboot alone usually will not clear a carrier voicemail lock.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Only reset voicemail through official AT&T account pages or support.

Follow these steps

  1. Reset the voicemail password in AT&T account tools

Sign in to the official AT&T app or website, open the line’s voicemail settings, and reset the voicemail password or PIN.

You should see: AT&T confirms a new voicemail PIN is set or ready to create.

  2. Call voicemail and create the new PIN

From the Samsung phone, press and hold 1 or dial the carrier voicemail number, then follow the prompts to enter and save the new PIN.

You should see: Voicemail unlocks and plays messages or the setup menu.

  3. Restart the phone if the shortcut still fails

Restart the Samsung phone and try the voicemail shortcut once more after the PIN reset.

You should see: The Phone app reaches AT&T voicemail normally.

  4. Contact AT&T if the lock remains

If it still says to contact your system manager after a PIN reset, contact AT&T support through official channels to clear the mailbox lock on the account.

You should see: AT&T resets the mailbox on their side or explains an account restriction.

Extra tips

What to look for: Messages such as contact your system manager, voicemail is locked, and the AT&T account voicemail PIN reset option

Before you change anything: Sign in only at the official AT&T website or app. Have account-owner verification ready. Do not share voicemail codes with unexpected callers. Avoid third-party voicemail unlock sites.
