How do I fix a MiniMed pump that shows no communication with the phone?
Answer
When MiniMed Mobile says there is no communication, the Bluetooth link between the phone, pump, and transmitter usually needs a clean re-pair—not a Google account fix. Remove the old pairing, toggle Bluetooth, then run the app’s pairing and Start sensor flow again.

Follow these steps
Remove the old Bluetooth pairing
On the phone, open Bluetooth settings, find the pump or transmitter entry, and forget/unpair it. Also remove any stale pairing inside MiniMed Mobile if the app offers that option.
You should see: The old device pairing is gone so a fresh pair can start.
Toggle Bluetooth on the phone
Turn Bluetooth off, wait about 10 seconds, then turn it back on. Keep the phone unlocked and near the pump.
You should see: Bluetooth is on again and ready to discover devices.
Pair again in MiniMed Mobile
Open the MiniMed Mobile app and use the app’s pairing flow for the pump/transmitter. Follow only the in-app prompts; do not rely on a generic phone Bluetooth connect alone if the app requires its own steps.
You should see: The app recognizes the pump/transmitter and shows the expected device information.
Restart the sensor start if needed
If pairing succeeds but sensor data still does not appear, open MiniMed Mobile and choose Start sensor again, following the on-screen order for your system.
You should see: The app begins sensor startup without an immediate no-communication error.
Restart phone Bluetooth path if it still fails
If communication still fails, restart the phone, turn Bluetooth back on after the restart, reopen MiniMed Mobile, and repeat the pairing flow once more.
You should see: The app reconnects, or the same error returns with a clearer point of failure.
Escalate with device details
If the device number is missing or different after a long transmitter battery outage, or communication never returns, contact Medtronic support with the pump model, phone model, and the exact app message.
You should see: You have the details support needs, or the link is restored.

Extra tips
What to look for: Messages such as no communication or lost communication, whether the pump and transmitter appear in the phone’s Bluetooth list, and whether the Medtronic app shows the expected device number.
Before you change anything: Keep your pump and transmitter nearby with batteries installed as the manufacturer directs. Do not ignore active pump or sensor alerts while troubleshooting the phone link. Use only the official MiniMed Mobile app for pairing. Never share account passwords or codes with unexpected callers.
