How do I fix a Samsung TV that says the antenna cable is disconnected?
Answer
Reseat the antenna or cable lead, power-cycle the TV and receiver, then switch to the correct HDMI input if you use a cable box. The antenna message often appears when Live TV is selected without a connected coax cable.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Unplug devices before forcing cables into hard-to-reach rear ports.
Follow these steps
Power-cycle TV and receiver
Turn off the TV and Bell/provider receiver, unplug the TV for 60 seconds, plug it back in, then power both devices on.
You should see: Menus respond again and the signal status refreshes.
Reseat antenna and HDMI cables
Firmly reconnect the coax antenna/cable lead if you use Live TV, and also reseat the HDMI cable from the provider box to the TV.
You should see: Connections are secure at both ends.
Select the correct input
Press Source/Input and choose the HDMI input for the provider box instead of Antenna/Live TV if you do not use an over-the-air antenna.
You should see: The provider picture appears and the antenna message is no longer relevant.
Retune only if you need antenna TV
If you truly use an antenna, open Broadcasting or Channel settings and run Auto Tune after the coax is connected.
You should see: Channels populate, or the TV still reports no cable when the lead is missing or faulty.

Extra tips
What to look for: Antenna cable disconnected messages, Live TV versus HDMI source, and whether the cable/satellite receiver picture appears on another input.
Before you change anything: Note which input you intend to use—antenna or set-top box. Unplug power before firmly reseating rear cables if access is tight. Avoid factory reset until input and cable checks fail. Do not share account numbers with unexpected callers.
