How do I fix a Samsung TV that says no service?
Answer
No service on a Samsung TV usually means the selected input has no signal, not necessarily a dead TV. Power-cycle the TV, confirm the correct HDMI or antenna input, and reseat cables before arranging repair.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Unplug the TV before reconnecting cables if you must reach crowded rear ports safely.
Follow these steps
Power-cycle the TV
Turn the TV off, unplug it for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.
You should see: The TV restarts and either finds a signal or still shows a clear no service state.
Change to the correct input
Press Source or Input and try each HDMI input plus any Live TV/Antenna option while the source device is powered on.
You should see: A picture appears on the correct input, or every input still lacks signal.
Reseat signal cables
Unplug and firmly reconnect HDMI or antenna/cable leads at both the TV and the cable box or antenna wall plate.
You should see: The no service message clears when a valid signal is present.
Test with another source
Connect a streaming stick, game console, or another HDMI device. If that works, the TV is fine and the original antenna/cable path needs service.
You should see: You know whether to repair the TV or the external signal source.

Extra tips
What to look for: No service message, selected input name such as TV/Antenna or HDMI, and whether Connected Devices menus are reachable.
Before you change anything: Note whether menus themselves still appear. Check that cable boxes or streaming devices are powered. Avoid paying for board repair until input and cable checks fail. Unplug power before reseating internal-facing connections only if you are qualified—start with external cables.
