How do I connect a Samsung TV to Wi-Fi so Netflix will install?
Answer
Netflix needs a working internet connection on the TV first. Open Network Settings, reconnect to the correct Wi-Fi band, and confirm the router is online before installing the app.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Do not share Netflix or Wi-Fi passwords with anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.
Follow these steps
Open Network Settings
On the Samsung remote, go to Settings > General > Network > Open Network Settings and choose Wireless.
You should see: The TV scans and lists nearby Wi-Fi networks.
Connect to the correct network
Select your home Wi-Fi name, enter the password carefully, and wait for Connected status. If your router has separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz names, try the other band.
You should see: Network status shows Connected and an IP address is assigned.
Power-cycle TV and router if the network is missing
If your Wi-Fi name never appears, restart the TV, then unplug the router for 30 seconds and plug it back in before scanning again.
You should see: The home network appears in the TV’s Wi-Fi list.
Install Netflix after the network works
Open Apps or Smart Hub, search for Netflix, install it, then sign in with your streaming account.
You should see: Netflix installs and plays over the TV’s Wi-Fi connection.

Extra tips
What to look for: Unable to connect, network not found, Network Settings status, and whether other devices can use the same Wi-Fi.
Before you change anything: Confirm the Wi-Fi password on a phone or laptop first. Note whether the TV is close enough to the router. Avoid factory-resetting the TV until network steps fail. Do not share streaming account passwords with unexpected callers.
