How do I fix a Samsung Galaxy S25 that will not connect to a cellular network?
Answer
When a Galaxy S25 cannot join the cellular network with no error message, the usual causes are Airplane Mode leftovers, a SIM or eSIM registration issue, or a preferred network setting. Refresh the connection, confirm the SIM is active, then reset network settings if needed.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Reset network settings removes saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings.
Follow these steps
Toggle Airplane Mode
Swipe down the quick settings panel, turn Airplane mode on for 15–20 seconds, then turn it off and wait for the phone to search for a network.
You should see: The status bar shows a carrier name and signal bars, or at least begins Searching.
Confirm SIM and mobile data
Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager and Mobile networks. Confirm the SIM or eSIM is on, Mobile data is enabled, and the preferred network type includes LTE or 5G as supported by your plan.
You should see: SIM status shows Ready or similar, and mobile network options are available.
Try manual network selection
In Mobile networks, open Network operators, turn off Select automatically, wait for the list, then choose your carrier.
You should see: The phone registers on the selected network or shows a clear failure to register.
Reset network settings
Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings, confirm, then reconnect to Wi-Fi and retest cellular.
You should see: Network configuration is cleared and cellular registration succeeds after reboot.
Ask the carrier to refresh the line
If the phone still cannot connect, contact the carrier over Wi-Fi or another phone and ask them to refresh provisioning for the SIM or eSIM on this Galaxy S25.
You should see: The carrier confirms the line is active and the phone attaches to the network.

Extra tips
What to look for: No service or Searching in the status bar, SIM status under About phone, and whether Mobile data and Network operators menus respond.
Before you change anything: Confirm the account is active with the carrier and the phone is unlocked if required. Note whether Wi-Fi still works. Have the Wi-Fi password ready before Reset network settings. Never share account codes with unexpected callers.
